Brazos Valley Health Mission

The mission of the Brazos Valley Health Partnership is to improve health status and access to care in the seven-county region of the Brazos Valley through the collaboration of services and the creation of local partnerships.

The BVHP has recently received grants from HCAP (Health Community Access Program) for $2 million over three years and ORCA (Office of Rural and Community Affairs) for $40,000. These monies will allow BVHP to expand health services first in Madison County with the MHRC and then in other areas of the Brazos Valley. MHRC houses services such as mental health, audiology, substance abuse counseling, a physician's assitant, and case management as well as select clinical services such as immunizations. The MHRC opened its doors to Madison County residents in late 2003 and has since seen over 100 different clients.

The partnership has selected Burleson County to be the next site for a resource center, which will open sometime in late 2004.
